If you are looking for a little bit of mid-week sports action, make plans to check out the Arkansas Travelers when they take on the Midland Rockhounds on Tuesday, July 16th. Fun times are sure to be had when you bring the family out for an evening of high-energy baseball!
The Arkansas Travelers enjoy a great history and a proud current franchise, as they've been a prominent part of Minor League Baseball for many generations after first hitting the field back in 1902 as the Little Rock Travelers. They returned as the Arkansas Travelers of the International League in 1963. Both versions of the name derive from the old folk song, "The Arkansas Traveler." The Travelers never took another nickname and possess the second-longest running nickname in minor league baseball history behind the Buffalo Bisons.
The Travelers play their home games at Dickey-Stephens Park, which has a capacity of more than 7,000 fans for the top games and is well-known in the region for being fun for the whole family. This is where it all comes together – where some of the very best players in the sport battle it out on the diamond.
If you’re looking for high-energy, wholesome entertainment for the entire family, don’t miss this game at Dickey-Stephens Park! Tickets start at $19 and may be purchased online or at the Park. For more information, and a full schedule of upcoming games, visit www.milb.com/arkansas.
